INSPECTION NEWS
The Friesian Sport Horse Registry will be using the serviced of FEIT or Federated Equine Inspection Tour. This Inspection Tour is operated by Cindy Bellamy and Kayla Hagel who have developed and managed the Inspection tours for the past three years.
Members who own a registered FSHR horse are may have their horse inspected at one of the inspection sites.
The Inspection Dates: The list of inspection dates and sites for the fall of 2008 are found on the FEIT web site.
http://equineinspections.com
Inspections are scheduled weekends between August and October.
FEIT Inspections are judged by licensed, highly experienced, USEF (R) judges. Friesian rated judges are prefered. Horses are presented in hand and at liberty. The quality of the horse's conformation, walk, trot and canter are evaluated, discussed and scored. Riding tests are available at some sites. Phone ahead for information.
Horses are scored 40% on conformation and 60% on movement. First, second and third premiums are given awarded ribbons and certificates. All horses scoring 7.7 and over, will be acknowledged by receiving an award of "HIGH MERIT"
FEIT offers a choice of 3 different standards that a horse may be judged against. Horse may enter multiple divisions. More standards may be added in the future.
1. SPORTHORSE STANDARD - Traditional Olympic disciplines
2. PARK STANDARD - For riding or driving horses with high knee action
3. PURBRED STANDARD -
Inspections are often viewed as a useful way to assess the quality of the horse's breeding within a registry or breed type. Inspections help to educate breeders and buyers about type and quality.
If you are interested in hosting an inspection in your area a minimum of number of horses is required. Check site for number.
